Have you ever read a book, or listened to tapes, about Real Estate? Or gone to a Real Estate seminar? Or joined a Real Estate investors' group? Well, it's a pretty safe bet everyone reading this article has - probably many times.
My question to you is WHY? What are you looking for? Do you believe the experts know something or have something you don't? I guess, by definition, experts DO know or have something others don't - that's why we call them "experts". We look to them to enhance our own abilities. By leveraging their expertise with our own abilities and effort, we hope to accomplish more. This is true whether the pursuit is real estate or any other aspect of life.
Most everyone is familiar with the concepts of teamwork and collaboration. You know the cliches - "two heads are better than one", "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts", etc. Well, partners can offer similar advantages in our real estate investment pursuits. Some of us have a supply of money to investment, some have real estate knowledge and/or experience, others have time, availability, and a desire to put deals together.
Amazingly, the potential in each of these is often met with the inability to put all the pieces together - repeatedly - if pursued alone. By teaming together, the strengths and potential of each of us is magnified by the strengths and potential of others. Each of us brings a piece of the puzzle to the table and voila! - the picture takes form. More productively than insisting on doing it alone. Don't let ego or pride fool you into believing you want to accomplish it on your own. That's down right "silliness".
If you're looking for a "good deal" - go find a good partner. Someone you respect. Someone who has what you need. Be willing to offer your skills in return. And be absolutely sure to make the relationship mutually rewarding. Try to give more than you receive - it's the surest way to a lasting relationship (of any kind).
Here's your challenge: Ask someone to partner with you at the next AIREO.com meeting. Let us know your results.
